If I want to impress somebody at a party I tell them about my work at Sesame place. Sesame Place is a replica of the Sesame Street tv set in the “Sesame Place” theme park in Langhorne Pennsylvania. My time on this project was split between fabrication and Scenic painting with more time spent on the latter. This massive structure feature: over twenty different facades with each facade incorporating faux-brick, mill, and stucco work, four separate murals, extensive weathering processes, a big bird nest replica, and fiberglass cornice. Three months of in-shop construction, six weeks of non-stop installation, and a scissor/boom lift certification later and this massive set was finished. Not only did this project bring countless smiles to children but also a marginal amount of respect from my extended family, despite having an art degree.
